This glossary defines common terms used in your Wagmo Wellness plan and Wagmo Insurance plan. These are general definitions, so check your policy documents for the specifics that apply to you.
Deductible
A deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before reimbursement begins for eligible Wagmo Insurance plan expenses. Once you have met your deductible, you begin receiving reimbursement for the rest of that policy period.
Reimbursement Percentage
After your deductible is met, your Wagmo Insurance plan reimburses a percentage of eligible expenses, up to any applicable annual limit. You are responsible for the remaining percentage, along with any expenses not eligible under your policy.
Waiting Period
A waiting period is the time between your enrollment date and when your Wagmo Insurance plan coverage becomes active. Waiting periods vary depending on your plan and effective date. Check your policy document to confirm the waiting period that applies to you.
Policy Period (also called Policy Term)
Your Policy Period is the 12-month period during which your Wagmo Wellness plan or Wagmo Insurance plan is active. For a Wagmo Wellness plan purchased directly, this period starts on the date of your first payment. For a Wagmo Wellness plan through an employer, it starts on your employer's Plan Effective Date, and your first policy period may be shorter than 12 months if you enroll partway through your employer's benefits year. For a Wagmo Insurance plan, this period starts on your policy's effective date and runs for 12 months, at which point a new policy is issued at renewal.
Routine Services
Routine Services are the annual or semi-annual preventive veterinary services used to promote your pet's general health, such as wellness exams and vaccines, performed when there is no illness or injury involved. These are the types of services eligible for reimbursement under a Wagmo Wellness plan.
Utilization Limits
Utilization Limits are the maximum number of times a service can be reimbursed, or the maximum dollar amount that can be reimbursed for a service, during your policy period. Both Wagmo Wellness plans and Wagmo Insurance plans may include utilization limits for certain services. Log in to your Wagmo account dashboard to see the specific limits that apply to your plan.
